Question from Prof. Diana Laurillard’s keynote session #9
How is the product of the teaching model assessed? Is this fed into the model? Can we look at each model as guidelines to a particular group and context?
The product of the teaching model is a particular lesson, class, module, course ... it is assessed in the same way as any other - do the students achieve the learning outcomes? If not, where do they fall short - and therefore what do we need to change in the model, or in the detail of the pedagogy to improve it? that creates a revised model - for testing with students - and the design-test cycle continues. I think if we exchange good ways of teaching, I could be learning how someone else deals with a particular group and context, and can use that and adapt it as necessary to my group and context. I think that helps.
